Calligraphy
Calligraphy is the artistic expression of human language. However, a wide range of expression can be found in these works from formal poetry to the antique equivalent of TWITTER. Calligraphy is commonly used in conjunction with ink and color paintings which are fixed on scrolls or fans. We invite you to explore these calligraphic works which are translated and authenticated to the author. Many of the authors are unknown artists.

This movement flourished between 1915 and 1942.This type of art will be familiar to fans of Japanese films such as those created by Hayao Miyazaki.
