Chinese Mid Century modern abstract vase Attributed to Wang Xiugong (王修功)
In 1960, Wang Xiugong invited friends and artists to create the “Longmen Pottery Company”, hoping to be different from mass-produced antique ceramic production, pursuing more free play and expression in creation; hoping to highlight the arts and craftsmanship. The company was located in Taiwan. Decorated with fruit and flower motif.
Measures 15″ H x 4.75″ W (mouth). Characters on the vase: 庚子秋退止 Pinyin: Geng Zi Qiu Tui Zhi
Translation: autumn in the year of Geng Zi Tui Zhi ( 1960) Characters on the marker: 龙门陶艺 品名 价格 Translation: Long Men clay modelling Product name Price
Condition: Light crazing, glue residue at top edge, some pitting near top edge, scrape near bottom edge corresponding to lamp base and drilled to accommodate a lamp.
