Biography of Tominaga Genroku:
“Ceramic maker worked in Ureshino, Saga prefecture. Founder of Genroku-yaki (Genroku ware). Genroku started to call his work ‘Genroku yaki (ware)’ from around 1888, when he built a new kiln. Genroku mark which comprises three Japanese katakana ‘to’ was introduced later.”
Dimensions: approx. 7 inches tall.
Age: Meiji Period
Condition: base worn consistent with age and usage and small hairline near middle center of one vase.
