Rare and monumental pair of Mid-Century Modern / Brutalist studio pottery table lamps designed and handcrafted by the legendary Italian master ceramicist Marcello Fantoni in Florence, Italy, circa 1960.

These oversized sculptural bases feature a heavily incised, architectural mosaic grid pattern. The textured “waffle” surface is decorated in an iconic mid-century colorway of vibrant mustard yellow, deep ochre, and earthy brown volcanic glaze accents. Each lamp rests on its original dark circular base collar.

Hand-painted red script “Fantoni Italy” signature along the interior unglazed base rim.

Condition Report:
Outstanding vintage condition. The ceramic bodies are structurally sound with no major chips, cracks, or repairs. Glaze exhibits intentional, beautiful variations typical of Fantoni’s studio work. Original vintage hardware is present; internal wiring is operational but recommendation is always to inspect or update for safety.
