Details: William Bartram (April 20, 1739 – July 22, 1823) was an American naturalist. He discovered the plant Franklinia which is shown in the framed print of the original illustration. Franklinia is a native plant of the South Eastern US namely Georgia. Acquired from a fine estate in Buckhead, a residential district in Atlanta, Georgia along with a number of other botanical and nature prints.
