John J. Audubon, The Viviparous Quadrupeds of North America, Bowen edition. This is John James Audubon’s last major project. Produced between 1835 and 1848. This is an original early hand colored lithographs from this series.

This lithograph was printed on paper sized at 22 x 28 inches, termed the imperial size. These prints are identified by the legend at the lower right “Lith. Printed & Cold. by J.T. Bowen, Phila.”

Period: Mid 19th century dated 1845.

Materials: Printmaking Materials, namely lithograph.

Condition: print very good condition as shown in the photographs. The paper has been archivally stabilized to conserve the original color, remounted with an acid free core, mat and UV resistant glaze. The original antique frame has been re-glued to stabilize but not refinished or retouched and shows some wear.
